🚀 Insurtech Challenge 2026 has officially kicked off!

Co-hosted by FRA Sandbox and AUC Venture Lab, under the strategic leadership of Eng. Ahmed Khalifa – Executive Director FRA Sandbox & Chief Data Officer, FRA – with Professor Ayman Ismail—Abdul Latif Jameel Endowed Chair of Entrepreneurship, Associate Professor at the Onsi Sawiris School of Business, and Founding Director of AUC Venture Lab—the Insurtech Challenge brings together startups, industry leaders, and innovators to tackle real-life, pressing challenges in the insurance sector, turning vision into action.

Yesterday marked a powerful start. Ms. Lina Zalat, Director of AUC Venture Lab, opened the session by highlighting that launching an Insurtech-focused hackathon has been a long awaited vision—one that now comes to life at a time when the regulatory landscape is more supportive than ever for fintech innovation.

Eng. Ahmed Khalifa, Executive Director of FRA Sandbox, expressed his appreciation for the strong collaboration between AUC Venture Lab with sponsors, and startups, emphasizing that the launch of this hackathon is the beginning of a very promising journey. He highlighted that this is not merely a competition, but a real pathway through which innovative ideas can evolve into applicable, scalable solutions—fully aligned with the FRA Sandbox’s vision.

The sponsors for this Hackathon, GIG Egypt & GIG Egypt Life Takaful , Orient Insurance and AXA Egypt took the stage to present real-life challenges across key insurance segments, including medical and motor insurance. This was followed by highly engaging and insightful discussions with startups—creating a dynamic environment focused on one clear objective: transforming innovative ideas into real, implementable solutions within insurance companies.
