FRA Highlights Egypt’s FinTech Regulatory Milestones at IOSCO GEMC

Eng. Sherif Yehia , Deputy Assistant Chairman at the Financial Regulatory Authority FRA, delivered an insightful presentation today during the session “The Evolution of the NBFS FinTech Ecosystem” at the International Organization of Securities Commissions - IOSCO @GEMC meeting in Malta.
He outlined how the FRA has implemented a major regulatory advancement by establishing a comprehensive legal framework for IT Governance (ITG), Technology Risk Management (TRM), and Cybersecurity Management (CSM) — creating a solid foundation for a secure and innovation-ready financial environment.
The session also highlighted the FRA’s achievements in transforming the FinTech landscape within the Nonbank Financial Sector (NBFS), including an overview of the FRA Sandbox — our regulatory sandbox and innovation hub enabling NBFS institutions to safely test innovative products, services, and business models under full regulatory supervision.
Eng. Sherif further showcased the FRA’s Supervisory Technology (SupTech) Platforms, which digitize regulatory processes, enhance data collection, and enable advanced analytics to strengthen reporting and oversight.
