It was our great pleasure to welcome everyone during the Demo Day at the FRA.

We were honored to have the keynote speech by H.E Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Chairman of the Financial Regulatory Authority FRA and the attendance of several FRA leaders as well as Eng. Ahmed Khalifa - executive director FRA Sandbox and Eng. Kareem Younes - CEO Mercatura Forum who all came together to support Egypt’s rising Web3 innovators. 🚀

During the keynote speech H.E Dr. Mohamed Farid emphasized the importance of integrating innovation with regulatory compliance, highlighting that the FRA views technology as the future of non-banking financial services and stands committed to guiding entrepreneurs in transforming bold ideas into viable projects.

He also reminded participants that entrepreneurship inherently involves embracing failure as a step toward success, a journey the FRA is ready to support through regulatory clarity and direction.

From bold ideas to groundbreaking solutions, the event was a true showcase of Egypt’s entrepreneurial spirit.

This was the very first national round of the World Computer Hacker League (WCHL), launched through the FRA Sandbox in collaboration with Mercatura Forum , ICP HUB EGYPT, and the DFINITY Foundation.

But this competition is more than just a contest—it is a national initiative to foster compliant, high-impact Web3 innovation.

Out of 26 pioneering projects, 16 have advanced to represent Egypt in the upcoming African continental round next month.

The participation of teams from diverse governorates beyond Cairo enriched the competition with unique ideas and solutions—underscoring the FRA’s commitment to developing inclusive markets that serve all segments of society.
